Tsugaike Kogen

Tsugaike Kogen is one of the largest and most popular ski resorts in Hakuba Valley, renowned for its exceptionally wide beginner and intermediate slopes. The resort's signature Karamatsu course at the base is one of the widest runs in Japan, making it a paradise for those learning to ski or snowboard. With 14 courses served by 19 lifts including a gondola, Tsugaike offers generous vertical with a top elevation of 1,704 meters.

The upper mountain, accessed by gondola, offers more challenging terrain with steeper pitches and excellent powder skiing after storms. The resort receives prodigious snowfall, often among the highest totals in Hakuba Valley. Tsugaike is also the starting point for the famous Tsugaike Nature Park in summer. The resort village at the base has a good selection of lodges, restaurants, and onsen facilities.
